Sleeping difficulties affect us all from time to time, and it can often be a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. Yet for many other people, sleeping problems can become more persistent and result in a number of negative consequences. For parents, it can be extremely challenging when our children are not sleeping well.
SOMNIA is an Adelaide psychology clinic striving to help individuals and families get a better nights’ sleep. We have over 10 years experience working in this area and offer a friendly and supportive environment using evidence based treatments. While the majority of our clients are children and adolescents, we also help adults experiencing poor sleep. As Psychologists, we are able to provide therapy for co-existing issues, such as anxiety, depression, behaviour and anger problems.

Helping All Age Groups
As Mums ourselves, we have been there and we know how you feel! We also know that it’s a big step to contact someone for help with your baby’s sleep. But we can help, offering a number of different treatment options.
There are many different types of sleeping problems in this age range, and for some, the patterns are similar to adults with insomnia. Our programs aim to help children to learn to sleep better by themselves.
Adolescent sleep problems are widespread, with 1 in 2 adolescents barely getting enough sleep to function well during the day. We offer cognitive behavioural therapy and Bright Light Therapy for adolescent sleep problems.
Many adults will experience sleeping difficulties and/or insomnia at some stage of their life, while for many it can become more chronic. Besides insomnia, adults can also experience circadian rhythm disorders.
